So, how many of you ladies are battling dry skin? I swear sometimes I feel like I'm turning into Alligator woman! 😆

Okay, it's not exactly that bad! But I do have dry skin on my arms occasionally, but it's my legs, sigh...
What Can Cause Dry Skin
(AI generated) Dry skin all over the body (xerosis) is primarily caused by environmental factors like cold weather, low humidity, and indoor heating, along with habits like long, hot showers and using harsh soaps. Other factors include aging (reduced oil production), dehydration, nutrient deficiencies, or underlying conditions like hypothyroidism, eczema, and diabetes.read more: mayo clinic
What I'm Guilty Of
- Taking 'turn my skin lobster red' baths. Once every blue moon I'll take a lukewarm/warm bath
- Too much caffeine
- Nicotine
- Sometimes not drinking enough water
What I've Tried & What's Working for Me (so far)
- Lotions I've tried Gold Bond, CeraVe, Cetaphil, Jorgensen, Lubriderm, Aveeno, Dr. Teals, Eucerin, and the list goes on.
Many of the above will work for a few hours then I'll have to reapply, sigh. Honestly I don't have the patience when I'm out shopping to stop and reapply lotion every time I turn around!
- Reducing caffeine
I don't mind decaffeinated drinks, however, sometimes they're difficult to find; either the stores don't sell them or they're out of stock. Oh and McDonald's doesn't have a decaffeinated caramel Frappe!😅
- Nicotine
Yes, I do smoke/vape. I quit for 3yrs, but I started the summer of 2022. There's times when I could kick myself for it, but, although I need to quit, I haven't really wanted to! Sooo...
- Not enough water
This is harder for me during the colder months than during the warmer months. Even then water can get down right boring! That's where Hint water comes into play; either drink straight from the bottle or add an ounce or two to your regular water.

◇ WHAT'S WORKING FOR ME, so far:
- Exfoliating every 2 weeks or weekly, it just depends
I use Dove exfoliating body polish I've tried pretty much every scent and love them all. They're also available at Walmart and Target.
- Trying not to take such hot baths!
This is easier as it gets warmer but they're still hot! 🤷♀️What can I say? To me baths are HOT and showers are lukewarm to warm!
So, I found that my suntan lotion works longer than all the other Lotions I've tried! But, I don't know if I want to walk around smelling like I just stepped out of a tanning bed. With that in mind I decided to try This by Australian Gold. Hopefully it works/lasts longer. I'll give an update sometime during the summer.
