HOME & LIFE

HELLO SUMMER!!

Umm, it's hard to believe how fast the first half of 2026 has flown by.  Remember when you were a kid and time seemed to go so slooow?  Now as an adult I want time to slow down!

Anybody have any vacation/ summer plans?  Our plans are to work on the to-do list, other than that 🀷‍♀️

I haven't finished the final health & wellness post yet, but fingers crossed I get it published in July.

Speaking of July ... are y'all ready to celebrate πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡² America's 250th birthday πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡² πŸ¦…?  Easy decorating type for patriotic holidays: tuck small flags into plants, vases, or wreaths.

Our middle grandson has been visiting since the first of the month and will head home after July 4th.  It's been great having him here!

Our daughter came up for a week to visit, too.  It was so great seeing her!

My brother lost his cancer battle πŸ’” June 20th. 😒 He fought so hard...cancer sucks!

Happy belated Father's day to all the dads out there πŸ’™

So, I saw a recipe the other day that turned my stomach 🀒 strawberry cottage cheese ice cream!!  Yes, you read that right....cottage cheese!  Umm....NO, I just can't! πŸ˜•

PROJECT UPDATE:

we finally finished staining and I applying polyurethane to all the dining room chairs.   The living room is painted and we're slowly painting the kitchen.  Plus once our grandson leaves I'll be working on a few changes in my office/guest room.

GARDEN NOTES:

our grass is finally shaping up.  The weeds were horrible this year!  I honestly didn't think DH was going to get it straightened out, but he did.  However, I'm pretty sure new sod will have to be laid next year πŸ€‘ (sigh).

WHAT I'VE BOUGHT:

so this was a splurge!  I've been spending time sitting outside (when it's not raining) either on the screened-in porch or porch.  While out there I'm usually watching shows/movies (or reading), but watching on a phone/tablet can be a little sketchy; so I decided to buy a portable TV!  Here  So far I'm enjoying it!
