LIFE LATELY

So, how many of you made resolutions in January? I stopped making resolutions many years ago, but for the past couple of years I've used the month of January to set weekly and/or monthly goals and to plan out home projects. None of the plans are set in stone, because life happens! But I still like to have a detailed list of what needs to be worked on.

Here is a look at my partial list:
  • Guest bathroom - paint tile around tub, repaint walls, repaint cabinet, frost window
  • Bedroom #3 ( grandsons room) - have new carpet laid, repaint walls, finish painting diy closet organizer, repaint all doors and trim
  • Bedroom #2 (guest/office) - have new carpet laid, paint walls, paint doors and trim, start and finish DIY closet organizer
  • Master bedroom - touch up paint, have new carpet laid, put finishing details on DIY closet organizer, repaint doors and trim.
  • Living room, dining room, foyer - lay new flooring, add board and batten  2 Fourier and dining  room, paint walls, doors and trim, change front door
  • Kitchen - remove all flooring and all cabinets, lay new flooring, bring in new cabinets, paint walls, doors, & trim, install new garage door and back exterior door
  • Sand buffet down then paint.
  • Finish my grandsons Afghan (it was supposed to be done by Christmas....BUT....🤷‍♀️)
This is a very small version, but you get the general idea.

Well, there was my month! How was yours?

Thank you for stopping by.
Enjoy your day,
Tina

Ideas & Inspiration | №7

Well here we are at what seems to be the longest month of the year! This is what I've been..
CRUSHING ON

With everyone discussing their new planners, I decided to throw my two cents worth in. I bought this planner HERE (no affiliation) during the summer and I love it! It has 95% of everything I need, its cheaper than the popular one, & it's 18 months. Plus I love the colors.

Don't you just love the colors and designs?
I do, they make me smile!
  • Loving these smoothies HERE - HERE (the lime in this one is so strong that I have to remove the lime pieces or they upset my stomach) - HERE
  • Bought these heart earrings HERE - love, love, love them! They are so pretty and very comfortable to wear
  • We have extremely hard water here, which dries out my already dry hands, so I bought these gloves HERE - I have the large and they're fit is good + the little ruffle on the top is so cute!
  • I also love they're soap HERE in peppermint- it's so refreshing!
  • Shared this article with  DH HERE

WHAT DO YOU THINK?
  • About these design trends HERE
  • Or these HERE
  • Loving two of these paint colors HERE

Enjoy your day! ♡ Tina

Reading Nook

What I've Read | 2018 to Jan 2020 {pt.1}

I love to read! Which is why this post will be in 2 parts. The first is comprised of the books I read in 2018 plus what I am (re)reading now. Part 2 will contain goodreads profile link, and a book bucket List which will be explained.

Another bit of info: You will notice that I don't do reviews, why? Because my reviews turn into 2 page book reports 🤦‍♀️ and when I shorten them they read choppy, so I just don't do them. With that out of the way let's get to what I read in 2018!
  • When a Nation Forgets God (nook edition) - This is a great read but also a disturbing read ... I'm not going any farther; follow the link and make your own decision on whether you want to read it or not.
  • Starvation Heights (nook edition) - One of many true crime novels.
  • Skipping Christmas (nook edition) - Better known by the movie name "Christmas with the Kranks" . I read this when it first came out  and after reading it this year, I've  decided to make this a personal Christmas tradition.
  • The Magnolia Story (nook edition)  - I finally got around to reading this . Such a cute book!
  • The Hygge Holiday (nook edition)  - I got a few chuckles out of this one.
  • Dead Man's Folly & Death on the Orient Express (nook edition)  - I love  'who done its' even ones I have read before...❤Agatha Christie
  • De-cluttering at the Speed of life (nook edition) - another book I saw while perusing blog land.
  • So Close to Amazing (kindle edition) - I follow KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms and decided to read her book and got plenty of laughs from it.
  • Alex (kindle edition) - This book may bring a tear to your eye,  plus make your heart race.
  • Death in the Islands (kindle edition)  - True Crime... A crime in the Hawaiian Islands  that's also the last case of Clarence Darrow
  • Pottery Barn HOME (hardcover)  - Again, but I don't read this as much as I look at the pictures.
  • HABITAT: a field guide to decorating (hardcover) - Another from blog land
  • 1000 Books You Should Read Before You Die (hardcover) - Bought the hard cover so I could physically mark off what I've read. This book is what sparked part 3 of this post!
And my favorite read from 2018 . . .
    Nora Murphy's COUNTRY HOUSE STYLE
(hardcover) - Love this book so much I'm reading this again

"The only advice, indeed, that one person can give another about reading is to take no advice, to follow your own instincts,  to use your own reason, to come to your own conclusion.  If this is agreed between us,  then I feel at liberty to put forward a few ideas and suggestions because you will not allow them to fetter that independence which is the most important quality that a reader can possess."  ▪Virginia Woolf

Well, what do you think? Have you read any of the above books, or which ones would you like to read? Let me know 🗣below...

    Thank you for visiting.
Happy reading & enjoy your day,
    Tina 🤗
